Decibel art director Jamie Leary and editor Albert Mudrian asked if we could give Dave Mustaine a few extra digits in reference to his new album, 13. In short, the answer was "yes." But it took some work.

Digging through the outtakes, I found shots in which Dave's hands were in slightly different positions where, anatomically, it could almost make sense for extra fingers to be. I didn't have a clean plate of the fretboard to work with, so the compositing was a challenge. I knew it was a success when I started passing around proofs and unsuspecting officemates did double-takes, actually counting the fingers to see what I'd done.
